Investigative Question or Issue: How might the principles of "Leave No Trace" be applied to the Adirondacks?

Challenge:
 
 Your group of ___ (3 or 4) has been hired by a Madison Avenue advertising firm to popularize the Leave No Trace message. They want you to develop a catchy and creative jingle that communicates the essence of the seven principles of the LNT approach as it applies to the Adirondacks. If they like your jingle, it will be broadcast across your radio listening region and your entire group will receive a $25 gift certificate to Extremely Monotonous Sports (only redeemable on February 30th!).

Be prepared to share your jingle with the other groups and explain how its lyrics reflect LNT principles. You will be expected to submit one legible copy of the jingle to your instructor. Please include the names of all group members on this copy.

Quality Standards:  

Form Criteria
•    Prepared within allotted time frame.
•    Copy of jingle with names of group members submitted to instructor.
•    Jingle has lyrics that are easy memorize.
•    Jingle has tune that can be hummed or whistled easily.
•    Jingle is short – less than 1 minute in length.

Content Criteria
•    Information communicated in jingle is accurate.
•    Jingle lyrics faithfully communicate essence of the LNT seven principles.
•    Information in jingle is appropriate to a specific region.

Knowledge: Participants can accurately describe and interpret LNT principles.
•    Team members can convincingly describe the connections between the message of the jingle and LNT principles.

Skill: Brainstorms several different options.
•    Instructors hear group members discussing several possible versions of lyrics/tune for jingle.
