If you have attended
one of the Adirondack Curriculum Project Teacher Workshops, you are
invited to participate in this project by developing an Adirondack
Challenge that will include a 1 day residency with an artist,
performer, or storyteller.

THIS
PROJECT TOOK PLACE IN 2004
Fourteen
Teachers Invited to Participate
They will be expected to:
- Come up with an idea for an “Adirondack
Challenge” that
connects a topic in your content area to learning about the
Adirondacks.
- Select a relevant artist or performer (list
provided),
contact them informally, and discuss your idea for a residency or
classroom presentation.
- Download the Microsoft Word template for an “Adirondack Challenge”, fill it in, and
submit to the ACP for review. Include the name of your selected artist
and a brief
description of the residency. Submit electronically to shildreth@roadrunner.com
- Finalize the plans, collaborate
with the artist to select a date, and proceed to teach the “challenge”
by June 1, 2005.
- Upon submission of a final version of your
challenge to the
ACP, along with some examples of student achievement, stipends will be
paid. Teachers
will receive $200.
- 6) Attend a meeting for all participants in
June 2005, date
and location to be determined.
