The
Water We Drink & Use
Student Handout
The Challenge: In groups of four, create
one (your choice) of the following products to help others learn where
our water comes from and how we can help to keep it clean.
1. Write a letter to the editor of your local or school newspaper.
- Must use proper
letter format.
- Must tell where
our water comes from
- Must persuade
readers to keep our water clean.
2. Design a
t-shirt logo, with an attached information card, to inform about where
our water comes from and to persuade consumers to keep our water clean.
- Logo
fits on 8 1/2 x 11 in. paper.
- Logo
must be an original colorful design.
- Logo
is mounted on posterboard template of t-shirt.
- Use
75-100 words to write an information card.
3. Write and
perform a one-act skit about where our water comes from, how we use
water and ways to keep it clean.
- Each
student must have a role in writing and performing the skit.
4. Create an
informational display or powerpoint presentation.
- Display must be
a colorful original design.
- Display must
have 10 written informative facts about where our water comes from and
ways to keep it clean.
Whatever your
choice, the product must be neat in appearance, communicate information
that is accurate, and be completed within the time allotted. All
products must also meet the Criteria for Quality for that particular
product as described in class.
All group members should be prepared to briefly present and explain
their product to the class if asked to do so.
